Bleach Episode 142 Summary
When Ichigo wakes up completely healed, he senses a spiritual pressure around him, and Hitsugaya suddenly shows up in his room to confirm that it’s Inoue that he senses. Hitsugaya claims that they have an emergency, so Ichigo goes with him back to Inoue’s apartment where they proceed to contact Soul Society. It is here that they learn from Ukitake that Inoue has either been abducted or already killed by the Arrancar. This enrages Ichigo because they only know that Inoue disappeared with the Arrancar, so they can’t say that she’s dead yet. When Ichigo uses his healed wounds as proof that she’s still alive, Yamamoto appears on the other side of the transmission and concludes that if Ichigo’s story is true, then Inoue is indeed still living. However, Yamamoto also figures that this means Inoue has betrayed them because she wouldn’t have gotten a chance to go see Ichigo if she had been abducted, meaning that she had to have gone to the Arrancar on her own.
Hearing this just gets Ichigo angrier, but Renji steps in and vows to go to Hueco Mundo to open Inoue’s eyes to reality. Unfortunately, Yamamoto refuses to let him and wants all of them to return to Soul Society instead. When Rukia says that they can’t obey this order, Yamamoto has Byakuya and Zaraki appear through a gate to force the group to go back. Ichigo still intends to save Inoue without Soul Society’s help, and he wants to know how to get to Hueco Mundo, but Yamamoto turns him down because Ichigo’s power is needed for the upcoming battle. That night, Shinji finds that Ichigo had left a bag filled with cleaned bandages and a note saying thanks. Over at the Kurosaki house, Ichigo’s sister and father are trying to get him to eat dinner, but he doesn’t feel like it. Even Kon can’t get a reaction out of him because he’s so lost in thought. At school the next day, Ichigo gets lectured by his teacher and later gets a ticket from his friend Mizuiro for a preview screening of a movie. The date for that is December 5th, and Ichigo thinks that he’ll come back by then.
Ichigo then starts walking away from his friends, but Tatsuki stops him. She has been searching for Inoue, and she thinks that Ichigo knows something. When he plays dumb, she grabs his collar and reveals that she hasn’t been able to sense Inoue since yesterday. She really gets his attention by saying that she’s seen him in a black kimono fighting strange people, but Ichigo answers by claiming that it has nothing to do with her. Tatsuki punches Ichigo for this and, as she’s being restrained by Keigo, she questions what she is to Ichigo. She had thought they were friends and remembers all the times she helped him when they were kids. Without directly responding to her, Ichigo leaves her in Keigo and Mizuiro’s hands, and he asks them not to be concerned about him. As Ichigo starts to walk away, Tatsuki can only scream that he’s an idiot.
Later that night, Ichigo shows up at Urahara’s house where Urahara is waiting for him. Urahara had figured out that Ichigo would think that he was the only person who knows how to get to Hueco Mundo, so he made preparations. He is helping because feels responsible for what happened to Inoue, and he doesn’t mind disobeying Soul Society since that’s the reason he came here originally. In the training area underneath the store, Ichigo meets up with Ishida and Sado, and both want to go with him to Hueco Mundo. Ichigo doesn’t think that they’re strong enough, so Sado proves that he’s gotten stronger by throwing a punch. He wants Ichigo to believe in them, and he feels that Ichigo shouldn’t have to bear the burden alone - that’s what comrades are for. With Sado, Ishida, and Ichigo together now, Urahara thinks that their preparations are finally complete.
Bleach Episode 141 Summary
Having returned to her apartment, Inoue is writing out some housekeeping instructions for Rangiku and Hitsugaya. On her wrist is a bracelet from Ulquiorra that makes it so that only Arrancar can recognize her existence while also allowing her to pass through any substance. In addition, Ulquiorra had given her 12 hours to say goodbye to only one person, and that person isn’t allowed to realize the truth. Around this time, over at Urahara’s underground training area, Ikkaku and Yumichika are making a lot of noise while getting bandaged up for their wounds while Hitsugaya watches over them. Noticing that Urahara has been deep in thought ever since the Arrancar left, Hitsugaya considers how lucky they were to get out with only this much damage against all those Espada. He knows that the Arrancar preparations are already complete, so they have to hurry with their own preparations. Unfortunately though, they’re having trouble contacting Soul Society.
Inoue meanwhile is walking through the streets when she accidentally bumps into someone, but that person is unable to see her. She then notices that she has no reflection in a store window and that she is able to pass her hand right through it. Still thinking about who she’s going to say goodbye to, Inoue heads to school and stares at Ichigo’s desk. When she hears some students coming, she hides in the front of the room, but accidentally knocks over Ichigo’s chair in the process. The two students turn out to be Mizuiro and Keigo, and seeing the knocked over chair causes them to start talking about how Inoue, Sado, and Rukia have all been absent. When Keigo thinks that he and Mizuiro been left out of something, Mizuiro suggests that they’re probably not the only ones and cites Tatsuki too. This causes Inoue to start thinking about her memories with Tatsuki, and she sees Tatsuki walking with the karate club a short while later. Tatsuki senses something when a soccer ball gets kicked towards Inoue and passes through her head, but Tatsuki gets called away by her club before either she or Inoue can act.
Later that night, Rukia is having trouble contacting Inoue who she still thinks is in Soul Society. Rukia is currently in Ichigo’s room watching over him as he rests after Hachigen had used a spatial regression technique to repair him. Since she’s been kept in the dark, Rukia is left wondering who the Vizards are, what power Ichigo is trying to obtain, and why the Arrancar suddenly stopped fighting and left. She’s thinking about going to Inoue’s apartment when she hears Yuzu and Karin outside the room, and she finds that the two have brought dinner. After eating, Rukia washes her plate and has a brief chat with Ichigo’s father who thinks that Ichigo got beat up by students from another school. She then leaves for Inoue’s apartment, but unbeknownst to her, Inoue arrives at Ichigo’s house soon after. Using her bracelet power to pass through his window, Inoue enters Ichigo’s room and tells the still-sleeping him that she’s come to say goodbye even though there are a lot of other people she wants to say goodbye to too.
Noticing Ichigo’s sisters sleeping on the floor beside his bed with the dirty dishes beside them, Inoue guesses that they wanted to eat with him in his room after he had been gone for so long, and this makes her realize that this is the first time she’s come to his room by herself. With Ichigo’s smell all around her, Inoue bends down and tries to kiss him, but she stops just short and starts crying instead because she can’t do it. Taking a step back, Inoue admits that she had a lot of things she wanted to do, including becoming a teacher, becoming an astronaut, running her own cake shop, going to the doughnut shop to order everything, and going to the ice cream shop to order everything. She thinks of how nice it would be to live her life five times over so that she could be born in five different places, eat five different things, and have five different jobs. For all five times though, she feels that she would fall in love with the same person. Inoue then thanks Ichigo and bids him farewell. Back in her own room, on the notebook she had been writing in earlier, Inoue had signed off with the words “good bye. halcyon days.”
Bleach Episode 140 Summary
Having managed to avoid Wonderwice Margera’s attack, Urahara wonders what technique it was, and he gets his answer when Yammy hits him with the same attack. Yammy then gleefully reveals that this Bala attack is not as strong as a Cero, but it’s 20 times faster. He proceeds to fire shot after shot of it at Urahara, and even Luppi thinks that Urahara can’t live through it. Luppi then turns back to his own fight, and he gets pissed off when Rangiku calls him extremely chatty and says that that’s the kind of man she hates. Before Luppi can do anything though, he discovers that all of his tentacles have been suddenly encased in ice. This is the doing of Hitsugaya who has recovered from the earlier attack and now critiques Luppi for not following through. Since Luppi is so surprised to see him still alive, Hitsugaya explains that his Hyourinmaru is the strongest of all the ice types and that it can be revived no matter how many times it gets broken as long as there is water. If Luppi’s weapons are his eight arms, then Hitsugaya’s weapon is all the water in the atmosphere, and he uses it all to surround the Espada in a prison of ice.
Yammy meanwhile also gets a surprise when Urahara appears behind him and mocks his fear of Aizen getting angry. After having seen the Bala attack a ton of times now, Urahara feels that he won’t be hit by it anymore and strikes back at Yammy. The reason he had managed to survive the earlier attacks is because he had swapped himself out with his new portable gigai. Furious that he’s being belittled, Yammy tries to use the Bala attack again, but Urahara easily cancels it out because he’s figured out how it works. Elsewhere in the city, Ichigo is getting beat up by Grimmjow as he attempts to re-summon his mask. Grimmjow uses the opportunity to pin down Ichigo’s arms by spearing them with his sword, and he then charges up a Cero blast at point-blank range, but he doesn’t get to fire it because Rukia arrives to freeze his arm and body. With Grimmjow immobilized, Rukia attempts to pull out the sword from Ichigo’s arms, though unfortunately for her, Grimmjow breaks free and grabs her head. He attempts to finish her with a direct Cero blast to her head, and this time it’s Shinji who shows up to save her. Shinji claims to hate to get involved in Shinigami battles, but he feels it can’t be helped in this instance.
Despite Shinji not wanting to tell Grimmjow who he is, Grimmjow still attacks him. This leads to Shinji putting on his Hollow mask, and the battle quickly shifts in his favor, culminating in Shinji firing a large Cero blast. Grimmjow survives it only by firing his own Cero before Shinji’s hits him, and he responds by trying to release his true form, but he gets stopped by Ulquiorra who announces that their mission has been accomplished. All of the Arrancar then get surrounded by the NegaciĆ³n light, and it breaks the ice prison that Luppi was in. Before they disappear, both Yammy and Luppi vow to get back at their respective opponents the next time they meet. Ulquiorra meanwhile notices that there are traces of spiritual force that point to a new power from Ichigo, but he questions the extent of the power and feels that this is th
